Director for Innovation and Knowledge Transfer

Jesús Banqueri Ozáez is a Professor (Catedrático) of Electronic Technology at the Department of Electronics and Computer Science at the University of Granada.

He has been a lecturer at the University of Granada since 1989, where he has taught both at the Faculty of Science and the School of Computer and Telecommunication Engineering in the degree programmes of Physics, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering and Telecommunications Engineering. He has also lectured on the doctoral degree programmes in Electronics, Bioengineering and Medical Physics at the University of Granada, as well as on the master's degree programmes "Planning, Management and Evaluation of R&D&I" (International University of Andalusia) and "Integrated Management of Science and Technology Parks" (UNESCO Chair at the University of Málaga).

His research has focused on the characterisation, modelling and simulation of electronic devices, and the development of sensors and high-performance portable electronic instrumentation for on-site measurements across a wide variety of applications (agri-food, environment, biomedicine, sports and health, etc.). All of this work has been carried out within the framework of the ECSens (Electronic and Chemical Sensing Solutions) research group. He has participated in 40 R&D&I projects and contracts, acting as principal investigator for half of them. The results of his research have been published in more than 40 articles in ISI international journals.

He has held various positions in the field of university and business management, as well as in the Andalusian administration. He has held the position of Director of the UGR Knowledge Transfer Office (OTRI) (2000-2004 and 2015-2019), coordinator of the OTRI Network of Andalusia, and member of the Standing Committee of the OTRI Network. From 2004 to 2008 he was Director of Innovation and Technology of the Innovation and Development Agency of Andalusia. He has been in charge of the Centre for Technological Information and Industrial Property of Andalucia (CITPIA), the CAMPUS Programme for the creation of technology-based firms from Andalusian universities, Works and Facilities in Technological Spaces in Andalusia, Technological Services for Companies, the incentive programmes for business R&D, the Center for European Services to Andalusian Companies (CESEAND), and the Southern Europe Innovation Relay Centre (SEIRC), among others.

He has been Chair of BICEURONOVA S.A. (Málaga), EUROCEI S.A. (Seville) and BICGranada, European Business and Innovation Centres, and an adviser for various companies (TECNOBAHIA S.L., Rabanales 21 S.L., PITA S.A., TALENTIA S.L.U., Centre for Technology Innovation and Knowledge Transfer in Andalusia, ICR, etc.).

He has been an evaluator for the "Regions of Knowledge" and "Potential of the Regions" programmes of the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7), and member of the Commission for "Social Environment of Innovation" of the COTEC Foundation for the Promotion of Technological Innovation.
