María Begoña del Pino Prieto obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from the University of Granada with an Outstanding Undergraduate Degree Award. She also obtained her Doctoral Degree in 1999. She is currently a Senior Lecturer (Profesora Titular) at the Department of Computer Architecture and Technology. She teaches on the Bachelor's Degrees of Computer Engineering, Industrial Electronic Engineering and Telecommunications Engineering, as well as on the Master's Degree in Data Science and Computer Engineering.

Dr. del Pino Prieto is an active member of the “Information Processing Systems and Circuits” research group (TIC-117) funded by the Regional Government of Andalusia, which received the UGR Social Council Award (2003 call) for its dynamism in contracting research assets and developing activities with companies and institutions. Her main lines of research focus on the modelling of bio-inspired vision systems and their implementation in specific high-performance architectures.

Since joining the university as a lecturer, del Pino has continuously participated in projects funded by research ministries, the Regional Government of Andalusia and the European Union (Framework Programmes 5 to 7).

She has also participated in various teaching innovation projects, two of which were awarded prizes in the 2003 and 2005 Teaching Innovation Awards by the former Vice-Rectorate for Teaching Planning, Quality and Staff Assessment. In recent years, she has focused on the use of new virtual teaching techniques, both online and blended, through her involvement in the development and teaching team of a MOOC course that won the 2018 UGR Social Council Award for the Best Online Training Activity.

Her teaching and research activity has led to the publication of book chapters and articles in prestigious JCR-indexed journals, and to the delivery of presentations in several national and international conferences.

With regard to university management experience, she has held the position of Academic Secretary of the School of Computer and Telecommunication Engineering, an elected member of various committees related to her department and the university faculty board (teaching, external relations, evaluation committees), and Secretary of the UGR Academic Committee of the Official Master's Degree in Computer and Network Engineering.
