ProjectFour minutes, no words: the EcoC2S film for World Water Week 2026
We made a silent four-minute film for the Water4All booth at World Water Week 2026 in Stockholm. It explains why rivers and coasts have to be studied together, and you can watch it on YouTube.

EventEcoC2S at River Flow 2026 in Thessaloniki
At River Flow 2026 in Thessaloniki, Maurizio Brocchini (UNIVPM) presented EcoC2S-supported work on sea–river interactions in microtidal estuaries, and Michael Nones (IGF PAS) contributed two remote-sensing studies.
PublicationNew paper: river mouths watched from orbit
A new open-access paper in Estuarine, Coastal and Shelf Science uses Sentinel-2 and Google Earth Engine to track when 34 Western Mediterranean river mouths open and close, from about 100,000 satellite images (2017–2025).
PublicationNew paper: sea-level rise is set to reshape compound flooding on the Spanish Mediterranean coast
With UPC, our team projects how compound flooding from heavy rain and high coastal water levels will change along 1,600 km of Spanish Mediterranean coast. Storm changes alone leave it stable or lower; sea-level rise drives widespread increases by 2100.
EventEcoC2S at the 3rd Polish Water Congress in Bydgoszcz
Iwona Kuptel-Markiewicz (IGF PAS) presented EcoC2S to Polish administrators, scientists and water managers at the 3rd Polish Water Congress (III Kongres Wodny), held in Bydgoszcz on 1–2 June 2026.
