Undergraduate Degree in Law and Political and Administrative Sciences (5 years, 378 ECTS) Joint Degree

Law and the political and administrative sciences are closely knit together. Our degree was developed in response to the need for more double degrees combining law with inter-related disciplines. Students on our course learn how to critically analyse diverse socio-political situations, so that different organisations, companies and governments can take different measures to improve it.

Students on this Double Degree can benefit greatly from the fact that our teaching staff are highly qualified and from our excellent facilities in the Faculty of Law, while also acquiring all the necessary theoretical and practical skills required to become successful political experts.

This five-year Double Degree has a balanced study plan with subjects from both Degrees. This plan is divided into four learning stages: basic subjects, core subjects, elective subjects and a six credit mandatory internship programme for the Law part of the Double Degree. Our students also have the opportunity to complete an elective internship for the Political and Administrative Sciences subjects. The course includes knowledge areas such as political systems, socio-political data analysis, history, sociology, civil law, criminal law, international law, EU political and judicial systems, political communication and human rights.

Graduates from our course have all the employment prospects of a graduate in Law (lawyer, judge, legal consultant, and so forth.), yet they can also choose to become professional political analysts and experts (in public administration, journalism, international organisations, and so on).

This Double Degree provides our students with a solid grounding in both disciplines, enabling them to become experts in the political field, with the capabilities and skills necessary to understand why policies are introduced, and predict their future consequences.
