Undergraduate Degree in Chemical Engineering

Chemical Engineering is the use of science (chemistry, physics, biology and mathematics) to transform raw materials and chemical products into more useful or valuable products. Essentially, it deals with the engineering of chemicals, energy or processes that create or convert them.

As a chemical engineering student on our degree, you will be taught to understand chemical processes and create chemical products. This includes the conception, calculation, construction and use of equipment and facilities related to chemical engineering, apart from developing a thorough understanding of the processes used in different industrial sectors.

Our staff have considerable experience teaching, working and researching in this field. A wide range of exchange programmes is also offered to our students. Apart from an excellent degree, the University of Granada offers several master’s degrees to expand our graduates’ area of expertise.

This four-year degree is comprised of four learning modules: basic subjects, industrial subjects, specific chemical engineering technologies, and elective subjects. It also includes subjects in fields such as mathematics, physics, chemistry, computer design, fluid mechanics and electronics.

Our graduates develop an ample understanding of the processes in chemical engineering, and are fully prepared to work in a sector that not only has great employment prospects, but is also useful in a wide range of fields such as the environment and energy, chemistry, and nutrition.

The course offers graduates the opportunity to become a teacher, researcher or professional in many different fields, such as agriculture, industry, electronics, and biotechnology. Chemical engineering is one of the disciplines that allow us to live in the modern world as we know it today, and new engineers sought after every day.
