The University of Granada will host the 6th International Conference on Heritage and Sustainable Development from 12 to 15 June 2018, marking the conference series’ 10th anniversary and the first time it has been held outside Portugal.

The event, which will bring together leading experts from over 40 countries, aims to explore topics such as economics, governance for sustainability, the preservation of historical buildings and monuments, cultural tourism, and the environment, within the framework of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Moreover, given Granada’s fascinating history, the conference will also cover the topics of Muslim heritage and sacred and religious heritage.

Pilar Aranda Ramírez, the Rector of the University of Granada, will open the conference at 14.30 on Tuesday 12 June at the School of Building Engineering. Francisco Cuenca Rodríguez, the mayor of Granada, and Reinaldo Fernández Manzano, the director of the Alhambra and Generalife Foundation, will also deliver speeches during the opening ceremony.
