Actitudes y prejuicios de los estudiantes de Educación Superior sobre los ancianos. Un análisis bibliométrico

Resumen
La gente está envejeciendo a un ritmo elevado en los últimos tiempos; esto puede plantear problemas sociales y personales, entre los que se encuentra el envejecimiento o el rechazo de los ancianos. El objetivo de esta investigación es analizar la producción científica sobre los estereotipos y prejuicios relativos a las personas de edad en la base de datos Web of Science (1995-2019) para reflexionar sobre cómo se ha estudiado la cuestión hasta ahora y qué tendencias pueden revelarse. La metodología aplicada es bibliométrica, mediante técnicas de seguimiento analítico y cuantificación documental, utilizando enfoques de mapeo científico. El número total de referencias analizadas consta de 124 documentos. Los resultados muestran que los estudios realizados sobre el tema están en auge, y que crecen continuamente a partir del año 2000; hay una gran cantidad de investigaciones centradas en el campo de las ciencias de la salud, principalmente en estudios de enfermería o de médicos. Autores como Álvarez-Castillo y Roberts son los que tienen mayor cantidad de trabajos sobre el tema, siendo la revista Gerontología Educativa una referencia en este tipo de investigaciones, donde el inglés es el idioma principal y los Estados Unidos el país donde más se estudia este problema. Los principales temas que marcan los estudios se centran en el conocimiento, las actitudes de los estudiantes, la disposición, la educación, la validez, los estudiantes de medicina, los adultos mayores, las enfermeras y la escala. Se concluye que el campo de investigación, aunque está creciendo, se centra en el campo de la salud y hay muy poca investigación centrada en el campo social.
