Series Architectural Ceramic in the Alhambra

The series titled "Architectural Ceramic in the Alhambra" comprises nine short videos presenting a research project initiated by the Board of the Alhambra and Generalife in collaboration with the University of Granada from 2016 to 2021.

The first  video focuses on the significance of glazed and unglazed architectural ceramics in the Alhambra. The next two analyze how documentation has been collected: the first one focuses on the centuries after the Christian conquest (16th to 18th centuries), and the second one is about the archival materials (manuscript files, restoration reports), and it includes a bibliography and visual materials (images, plans, drawings) from the 19th century to the present. The fourth, fifth , and six present the architectural ceramic material specifically preserved in the Alhambra's Reserve Area. The seventh and eighth emphasize the importance of multidisciplinary research, showcasing the work processes carried out by researchers from seemingly diverse disciplines such us archaeology and mineralogy, both of which converge on this project. A final video showcases the publication released in 2022 by the Board of the Alhambra and Generalife, within the framework of the "Science in the Alhambra" Excellence Unit anda highlights the most interesting results of this project.
