Aunque comencé mi investigación en análisis y procesamiento de imágenes, posteriormente trabajé en el campo de las ecuaciones diferenciales. De hecho, mi tesis doctoral se enmarca dentro de esta segunda área de las matemáticas. Sin embargo, en última instancia, he dedicado casi todo mi tiempo de investigación a la teoría de semigrupos numéricos, un campo bastante específico dentro de la teoría de números, concretamente una rama de las ecuaciones diofánticas.
