Program explanation

As in the previous editions of this workshop, each accepted paper will be presented through a poster and not by a traditional oral presentation with slides, in order to encourage a real interaction among participants, sharing knowledge and experiences on the workshop topics. Consequently, authors of accepted papers must prepare a poster (up to A1 size) instead of a (PowerPoint or similar software application) file with slides. Additionally, authors may willingly present a demo of their work and/or project a video related to it. We would ask the participants to arrive early and place their posters on the right place (according to indications by organizers) at the very beginning (if possible, before the event starts).

There will be only an oral presentation with slides, the keynote talk. After that, we will have the poster session, followed by a debate and discussion among all the attendees focused on identifying challenges in the areas covered by the workshop. Of course, we will try to link the ideas discussed to the contents of the keynote and accepted papers, with the aim of trying to propose how the achievements of each work can benefit others and establish a real sense of community interested in addressing the current challenges in such areas. Attendees will be also invited to propose other topics they like to be discussed in this activity.

The PDF files of the papers accepted as well as the one corresponding to the keynote talk have been placed in a folder (called WoRIE'19) in Google Drive. This folder will be shared among all the participants, with the aim to facilitate their previous reading, and thus to take advantage of the time available for fruitful discussing during the meeting.

Our intention is to spread the results of this group discussion in some way, which will depend on the result itself. With this, we aim that our community can access this outcome and benefit from it. Therefore, in order to facilitate the discussion and encourage that interesting results can arise from it, if the number of attendees to the workshop is high, a series of (a manageable size) groups will be formed to discuss about the topics addressed during the workshop and others related to them. Finally, the conclusions reached by each group will be shared with the rest of groups and possibilities for their dissemination and plans for the future will be agreed.
