PROJECT TITLE: MULTIFUNCTIONAL METALLIC NANOPARTICLES BASED ON BIOPLATFORMS. NANOBIOMEDICAL APPLICATIONS.

SUMMARY:

The aim of this project is the preparation of a batch of water soluble multifunctional nanostructures containing: i) a superparamagnetic nanoparticle encapsulated in a bioplatform, ii) a Quantum Dot, covalently coupled to the magnetic bioplatform, iii) a polytehylenglycol PEG polymer network grafted either to the magnetic bioplatform or to the QD and iv) targeting ligands for specific tissues. These magnetic-fluorescent, biocompatible and targeted metallic nanoparticles could have potential application in Nanobiomedicine as bimodal agents in MRI-optical imaging.

SUMMARY:
The project deals with the development of a method for the preparation of bimetallic nanoparticles having either magnetic-magnetic or magnetic-fluorescent core-shell structure.

PROJECT TITLE: PREPARATION AND TEM STUDY OF MAGNETIC-FLUORESCENT NANOPARTICLES. DEPOSITION ON GOLD SURFACE AND LANGMUIR-BLODGETT FILMS.

SUMMARY:

Control over deposition is one of the key for building nanostructures from nanoparticles. The project deals with the preparation and characterization of nanostructures made by deposition of bimetallic nanoparticles on functionalized gold surface as well as by fabrication of Langmuir-Blodgett films
