The " Junta de Andalucia" in coordination with the University of Granada supports the "Proyecto de excelencia" designed to investigate the physiology of pregnancy at extreme altitudes. The project is carried out at two research stations in the Peruvian Andes at 4,350m above sea level and at two reserach centres at sea level in Lima - Peru

Participating centres

In this research programme are taking active participation the following health centres A) At sea level in Lima Peru: "Instituto Materno Peri natal" and Hospital "San Batolomé in Lima - Peru" and B) at 4,380m above sea level, in Cerro de Pasco city: Hospital "Daniel A. Carrion" and Hospital "Essalud II Pasco"
