Manuel J. Castillo Garzón (Granada, 1955), Doctor of Medicine (1980), specialised in Clinical Biopathology – Endocrinology, Professor of Medical Physiology in Granada Faculty of Medicine (1996-). Director of the Research Group: Functional Evaluation and the Exercise Physiology – Health Science and Technology 262 of Junta de Andalucia, Medical Ex-director of Sotogrande Health Experience (a practical application of his researching activity). Author of more than 150 national and international scientific publications (most of them in hit magazines) and more than 250 communications and congresses. Ha has given several conferences in and outside Spain. He is keeping a steady collaboration line with Health and research centres in different countries taking part and/or leading several national and international projects.

Medical-scientific field of interest: study of the endocrine-metabolic aspects related to the physical activity and its effect in the ageing prevention. Member of the scientific committee of several scientific societies and among them the Medical Anti-ageing European Society. Among other awards, his group has received Sport Research Award that is given by Junta de Andalucía.

Jonatan Ruiz Ruiz is a Ramón y Cajal Research Fellow at the School of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences at the University of Granada (Spain). Jonatan has an MSc in Exercise Science from the University of Granada (Spain). He also has a PhD in Exercise Physiology from the University of Granada (Spain), and a second PhD in Medical Sciences from the Karolinska Institutet (Sweden). His research combines physical activity epidemiology with clinical physiology to study the interaction between physical activity, fitness, features of the metabolic disorders, and genetics.

He was awarded the University title of Doctor of Exercise Phyiology by Granada University (Spain) and a second PhD in Medical Sciences at the Karolinska Institutet (Sweden). Nowadays she Works as a Professor at the Physical Activity Sciences and Sport Faculty of the University of Madrid. She is member of the research group EFFECTS 262 (Functional Evaluation Physiology of the Exercise) from Granada University and Guest Teacher of the Nutrition Institute of Bonn University (Germany). Moreover, she collaborates on these and other centres both national and international ones on teaching and research projects.

Research field: Valuation of the nutritional condition in healthy subjects with different levels of physical activity. Recommended nutrients and non-nutrients consumption.
