Who we are

The Endocrinology and Metabolism research group was launched in 1990, when the Andalusian Regional Government decided to boost Andalusian research by encouraging researchers to join together in large research groups. The aim was to bring together scientific equipment, human resources and efforts in order to undertake major projects and achieve high-quality scientific investigation.

Our research focuses on the biochemical study of the endocrine system in experimental animals and humans, basing our investigations on the determination of hormones. Because hormones can regulate gene expression, our research has extended to quantitation of the transcription and expression of hormone-regulated genes and to protein crystallisation.

We have proven our maturity and seriousness and have become established as a strong research group of high quality, endorsed by the numerous scientific papers published during this time. The scientific experience of the team, its human potential and the equipment at its disposal mean that it has leading-edge technology available to resolve any problem related to the determination of hormones and the quantitation of gene expression and transcription.
