El título del artículo hace un juego de palabras que quiere señalar dos cosas: por un lado, que se ubica dentro de un conjunto de propuestas que buscan revisar el giro lingüístico en historia y, por otro, que propone una revisión fundada en el paradigma de la “incorporación”, lo que supone fundar el análisis en los conceptos de cuerpo y emoción. El objetivo fundamental de artículo es promover un giro material en las ciencias sociales y particularmente en la historia de género. Para justificarlo, realiza en primer lugar una revisión del giro lingüístico, analizando las necesidades teóricas que impulsaron esta evolución del pensamiento; en segundo lugar, revisa también lo que se ha dado en llamar el postgiro lingüístico. De esta evolución se extrae que el contenido fundamental a preservar es la dimensión postmetafísica que el giro lingüístico introdujo en el conocimiento de lo social, mientras se pone en cuestión la dependencia que la teoría crítica tiene del lenguaje entendido como sistema diferencial de significación.

The title of this paper plays on words which outline two things: firstly, that the paper finds itself within a series of proposals which seek to revise the linguistic turn in history, and secondly the paper proposes a revision based on the paradigm of embodiment, which means establishing the analysis on the concepts of body and emotion. The main objective of this paper is to promote a material turn in social sciences and, particularly, in gender history. In order to justify this, the paper carries out a revision of the linguistic turn, by analysing the theoretical needs which promoted the evolution of thought, and secondly, another revision of what has become to be called the linguistic post-turn. From this evolution the paper finds that the fundamental content to preserve is the post-metaphysical dimension that the linguistic turn introduced into the knowledge of the social, while the dependence that critical theory has on language, understood as a differential system of meaning is also questioned.
