Este artículo analiza la fascinación literaria por el oriente a través del caso de la poeta española Trina Mercader. Partiendo de presupuestos feministas y con una metodología propia de la crítica literaria y el análisis discursivo, se aborda la cuestión de la apropiación del discurso orientalista en los años cuarenta y cincuenta del siglo XX en la historiografía literaria española. El artículo se organiza en torno a tres núcleos fundamentales: la aventura orientalista, la fantasía oriental y la reescritura lírica del oriente.

This paper analyses the literary fascination with the Orient through the study of the Spanish poet Trina Mercader. Based on a feminist approach and a discursive analysis methodology, the article deals with the appropriation of the Orientalist discourse in the Spanish literary history during the 1940-1950 decades. The paper focuses on three main topics: the Orientalist adventure, the Oriental fantasy and the poetic rewriting of the Orient.
