En la teoría performativa que la feminista Judith Butler desarrolló en la década de los 90, inspirada en la filosofía del lenguaje de John Austin y John Searle, y en los comentarios posteriores de Jacques Derrida, se proponía que las pequeñas rebeldías del “ser” y el “hacer” cotidiano son más que juegos identitarios, pues tienen la oportunidad de establecer nuevas normas capaces de subvertir el orden de la dominación imperante. En este artículo, siguiendo esta idea que tantos debates ha ocasionado dentro de la teoría feminista, analizaremos la fuerza subversiva de lo que se llama la bohemia de una época concreta, la que le vio nacer a finales del siglo XIX. En el análisis nos centraremos en especial en averiguar la estructura de la ruptura de las normas patriarcales, como nicho de las representaciones sociales más resistentes al cambio.

According to the performative theory developed by feminist Judith Butler in the nineties –inspired by John Austin and John Searle’ philosophy of language and Jacques Derrida’s subsequent comments– the little rebellions of everyday “being” and “doing” are more than identity games, since they have the chance to set new rules which can subvert the established order of domination. Following this idea, which has aroused so much debate in feminist theory, this article analyses the subversive power of so-called Bohemia during the period of time in which it was born –the end of the nineteenth century. The analysis focuses particularly on finding out the structure behind the breaking of patriarchal rules, which are viewed as the niche of social representations most resistant to change.
