The University of Granada provides a wide range of grants and scholarships aimed at facilitating access to and continuation of studies offered by the University (UGR General Study Grants).

Those who meet a series of general, academic (academic performance and registration) and financial requirements, as set stipulated in the call for applications published annually, may be beneficiaries.

The scholarships of the UGR's own plan are incompatible with the MEC scholarships, as they are intended for the same purpose. You can apply for both but you will only be able to obtain one of them, and as long as you meet the academic requirements to obtain a grant from the Ministry, you will not be able to obtain your own grant.

The grant can be applied for through "Oficina Virtual" Student and Staff Portal within the period established in the call for applications.

Approximately 70,000 individuals – students, researchers, lecturers, and administrative and service staff are directly linked to the UGR, making it the 4th largest university in the country. This university community has turned Granada, with its 240,000 inhabitants, into a lively, vivacious and culturally rich city. Approximately 6,000+ international undergraduate, masters, and doctoral students undertake studies at the UGR every year, making it a truly multicultural study destination.

Furthermore, every year the University of Granada receives more than 2000 Erasmus students. As such, it is the most popular Erasmus destination in Europe. We also send more Erasmus students to foreign universities than any other European higher education institution. We are a founding member of the international Coimbra Group, an association of European universities at the forefront of higher-level education.

Granada es conocida como una de las ciudades universitarias de España. La principal razón es que los estudiantes representan un porcentaje importante de la población. Vivir en esta hermosa ciudad situada en el este de Andalucía es toda una experiencia. Sus paisajes, su riqueza histórica, su gastronomía y tradiciones harán que tu etapa universitaria sea inolvidable.

• Ambiente intercultural. La ciudad en sí es una mezcla de culturas por su pasado musulmán, pero la gran cantidad de estudiantes extranjeros que recibe la UGR permite conocer diferentes culturas, costumbres e idiomas a través de tus compañeros de clases.

• Turismo. Debido a su historia y arquitectura, Granada tiene un gran atractivo turístico. La principal ventaja de esto es que los estudiantes siempre encuentran un lugar nuevo para visitar y muchas cosas interesantes en el camino. El Albaicín, la Alhambra, Sierra Nevada, la Costa Tropical, y muchas atracciones turísticas que descubrir.

• Ocio y gastronomía. La oferta cultural y de ocio de la ciudad es muy amplia. Para las personas amantes de la cultura y la historia, siempre habrá un evento al que asistir. La tradición gastronómica de la ciudad y su oferta de restauración complementarán tu vida universitaria.

• Acceso al transporte público. Granada cuenta con estaciones de metro y paradas de autobús en distintos puntos de la ciudad, de manera que es sencillo trasladarse a cualquier lugar. Esto es excelente para los estudiantes que no viven tan cerca de los campus universitarios, ya que en unos minutos pueden llegar de forma cómoda. 

Ceuta y Melilla son campus singulares de la Universidad de Granada. Ambas ciudades situadas en el norte del continente africano.
