Recipient of the Honorary Award for Best Professional Career at the 2nd edition of the EXPONE Awards for Good Practices and Innovation in Museums and Exhibitions, granted by the Asociación de Museólogos y Museógrafos de Andalucía, and holder of the Medal of Merit of the Academia de Bellas Artes de Granada for her work in the fields of culture, art, and the protection and dissemination of historical heritage.
Member (Vocal) of the Comisión Andaluza de Museos and Member of the Consejo Andaluz del Patrimonio Histórico of the Junta de Andalucía.
She served as Director of the Secretariado de Bienes Culturales (2015-2023), Coordinator of the PhD Programme in History and Arts (2013-2015), and Coordinator of the Máster Propio en Museología jointly organised by the University of Granada and the Junta de Andalucía (2000-2015).
She has participated in or led 15 research projects, 13 research contracts, and 5 teaching innovation projects.
Her doctoral thesis, defended at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and entitled "Museos virtuales y digitales. Proyectos y realidades. Del arte del objeto al ciberarte", initiated a specific line of research within the field of History of Art focused on the relationships between museums, contemporary art, and information and communication technologies.
She has taught on postgraduate and Master's programmes at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, University of Granada, Universidad Pablo de Olavide (Seville), University of Zaragoza, University of Málaga, Complutense University of Madrid, and University of La Laguna, as well as at foreign universities in Argentina, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Uruguay, and Colombia.
She has delivered lectures on the relationships between museology, art, cultural heritage, and ICTs at numerous universities and museums in Spain and abroad, including Portugal, Luxembourg, Argentina, Ecuador, Brazil, Mexico, Uruguay, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Cuba, and the United States.
