PILAR ARANDA RAMÍREZ, RECTORA DE LA UNIVERSIDAD DE GRANADA, SOBRE LA SITUACIÓN DE PATRICK
Tras el anuncio de Abdel Fatah al-Sisi, Presidente de Egipto, de una amnistía debida al Covid-19 que resultará en la liberación de 530 prisioneros, quiero unir esta declaración a la del Rector de la Universidad de Bolonia, Francesco Ubertini. para apelar a los Gobiernos Españoles e Italiano, a la Comisión Europea, a las Universidades del consorcio GEMMA y el resto de las Instituciones de Educación Superio con las que la Universidad de Granada colabora para que en virtud de los principios de libertad y respeto por los derechos humanos que compartimos levantemos nuestras voces en este momento crucial. Esta puede ser una oportunidad única para poner fin a esta tremenda situación que dura ya 150 días. Nuestra protesta conjunta puede conseguir que Patrick pueda volver a su vida normal y retomar sus estudios en el máster GEMMA que está cursando.
UNIVERSITY OF BOLOGNA, ON PATRICK ZAKI’S SITUATION
I have learned of the announcement made by the Egyptian President al-Sisi to grant pardon to 530 prisoners in the Covid-19 law enforcement measures. I appeal to the Italian Government, to the European Commission, to the numerous institutions that have adhered to our motion and to all the universities in the world that, like us, have subscribed to the principles of the Magna Carta, to join the Alma Mater and make their voices heard. This is an opportunity to put an end to this terrible and absurd situation and to give Patrick back his life and his studies.
I hope to be able to embrace him again soon here in Bologna.
DICHIARAZIONE DEL RETTORE FRANCESCO UBERTINI SULLA VICENDA DI PATRICK
Ho appreso dell’annuncio fatto dal Presidente egiziano al-Sisi di concedere la grazia a 530 detenuti nell’ambito delle misure di contrasto al Covid-19. Faccio appello al Governo italiano, alla Commissione europea, alle numerosissime istituzioni che hanno aderito alla nostra mozione e a tutte le università del mondo che come noi hanno sottoscritto i principi della Magna Charta affinché si uniscano all’Alma Mater e facciano sentire la propria voce. E’ l’occasione per mettere fine a questa assurda vicenda e poter restituire Patrick alla sua vita e ai suoi studi.Spero di poterlo riabbracciare presto qui a Bologna.
