Dr. José Antonio Naranjo Rodríguez obtained his Doctoral Degree in Science from the University of Granada, where he is currently a Senior Lecturer (Profesor Titular) at the Department of Didactics of Experimental Sciences. He is a member of the Pedagogy of Experimental Sciences and Sustainability research group. He is also the author of numerous scientific articles which have been published in prestigious national and international journals, and has supervised a total of ten doctoral theses. He has participated in 12 research, teaching innovation and cooperation projects.

Dr. Naranjo has been awarded an ​​honorary doctorate​​ from the University of Mendoza (Argentina) and is a renowned member of the Education Council of Andalusia (CEA). Since 1992, he has held important university representation and management positions, including as a member of the University Senate and Governing Council; Deputy Secretary of the UNESCO Centre in Andalusia; Vice-Dean of Infrastructure and Economic Affairs at the Faculty of Education; Secretariat Director of the Vice-Rectorate for Student Services and Employability; Director of the Department of Didactics of Experimental Sciences; Dean of the Faculty of Education at the ​​University of Granada​​; and Chair of the Conference of Deans of Education from Andalusia, Ceuta and Melilla. He currently holds the position of Chair of the Spanish Conference of Deans of Education.
