José Ángel Ibáñez Zapata has been a Doctor in Economics and Business since 2001, developing his teaching and research activity in the Department of Marketing and Market Research at the University of Granada since he joined the institution in 1994, where he decisively contributed to its consolidation during the development of this area. He has been a Senior Lecturer (Profesor Titular de Universidad) in the area of Marketing and Market Research since 2003.

He has worked in the field of teaching innovation and the development of ICT applications in the field of teaching and research. This work has resulted in his participation in, and leadership of, different teaching innovation projects and support programmes for practical teaching.

He has conducted his research in the field of Consumer Behaviour, International Marketing and Market Research. He has developed most of his postdoctoral and teaching work in these areas. More recently, he has initiated a new line of work in both fields from the perspective of New Information and Communication Technologies and, especially, from the study of the repercussions of the Internet in these two fields. Likewise, in recent years, together with the rest of the members of his research group, he has initiated a new line of work based on the use of tools for recording the psychophysiological responses of individuals to different types of stimuli. This line of research has given rise to interesting works in the field of Neuromarketing which are currently in the process of completion and publication.

He has participated as a researcher in 13 R&D&I projects financed in competitive calls from public administrations or public and private entities. He has participated as a researcher or principal investigator in another 13 contracts, agreements or non-competitive R&D&I projects with administrations, and public and private entities. He has carried out marketing and communication consultancy work for many of the main local and provincial companies in different sectors (financial, food, distribution, logistics, etc.). He has made numerous relevant contributions to national and international conferences and has published numerous articles in prestigious scientific journals (15 of them with a significant impact factor) and is the author or co-author of 18 books and book chapters.

He was Academic Secretary of the Department of Marketing and Market Research between 2008 and 2012 and was responsible for the Social Media Strategy of the University of Granada between 2010 and 2015. Since July 2015, he has held the position of Director for Communications at the University of Granada.
