Armed conflicts in Sahara and Sahel endangering wildlife in the region

An international study, involving researchers from the University of Granada, has established that the escalation of armed conflicts in the Sahara-Sahel region is leading to the extinction or near-extinction of 12 of the 14 species of large vertebrates in the region, such as the African elephant and dorcas gazelle.

UGR launches new accessibility app ‘UGRQR’

The UGRQR mobile application was presented at the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting on the 6 April. This inclusive and accessible app makes it possible for those with disabilities to navigate more effectively around the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting and the School of Computer and Telecommunication Engineering, both of which have jointly coordinated the project. The app lets users find and identify the different spaces that make up these buildings, guiding them around and providing them with practical information along the way.
