The University of Granada will host the working conference titled ‘Migrants and Refugees: Inclusion Policies and Practices’ from the 22 to 23 June 2018. The conference will explore inclusion policies and practices aimed at migrants and refugees with a strong focus on local-level perspectives, bringing together researchers, policymakers, non-governmental representatives, as well as migrants and refugees.

Researchers from the University of Granada have developed new medication which could help to treat and prevent chemotherapy and radiotherapy-induced oral mucositis in head and neck cancer patients. The melatonin compound, in the form of a gel, has now passed phases 1 and 2 of clinical trials and is expected to be on sale by 2022.

The University of Granada will host the 6th International Conference on Heritage and Sustainable Development from 12 to 15 June 2018, marking the conference series’ 10th anniversary and the first time it has been held outside Portugal.

The International Conference ‘The History and Memory of Hunger during the Franco Regime (1939-1951)’ will be held at the University of Granada from 7 to 8 June 2018, bringing together speakers from six Spanish universities and prestigious international institutions such as the University of London, the University of Nottingham, and the Lyon Institute of Political Studies.

The renowned flamenco singer Estrella Morente and the alternative rock band Lagartija Nick will perform a symphonic poem with the “Manuel de Falla” Choir, an ensemble from the Orchestra of the University of Granada, and the pianist David Montañes, at the PTS University Campus on 6 June.

The UGR has now opened the 2018-2019 edition of its Mentor Programme (in Spanish: Programa Mentor), a student-oriented initiative designed to help our international community with their cultural, academic and social integration at the UGR.
