13th International Conference on Interdisciplinary Social Sciences

The 13th International Conference on Interdisciplinary Social Sciences will take place at the University of Granada from 25 to 27 July 2018. Launched in 2006, the Interdisciplinary Social Sciences Research Network is brought together by a common interest in disciplinary and interdisciplinary approaches, within and across the various social sciences.

International mobility and development cooperation awards ceremony held

On Monday 17 July, at a ceremony held at the Hospital Real, the seat of the Rectorate, the University of Granada presented its prestigious Awards for Excellence in International Mobility and "Federico Mayor Zaragoza" Award for University Development Cooperation. The annual ceremony is held with a view to rewarding the outstanding contributions of UGR students to international mobility programmes and development cooperation initiatives.

UGR participates in H2020 project on preventing radicalisation online

The University of Granada will take part in the EU Horizon 2020 project ‘PROPHETS: Preventing Radicalisation Online through the Proliferation of Harmonised Toolkits’, which aims to tackle the causes of online radicalisation, cybercrime and cyberterrorism. The project has a total budget of €2.99 million and will be carried out between 2018 and 2021.

Major study reveals Great Barrier Reef’s 30,000-year fight for survival

A landmark international study, recently published in Nature Geoscience, shows that the Great Barrier Reef has suffered 5 death events in the last 30,000 years. The groundbreaking study of the world’s largest reef system reveals that these events were driven mostly by variations in sea level and associated environmental changes.
