 Dear Colleagues,
We cordially invite you to attend the XXth IUPAC Symposium on Photochemistry, which will be held in the Granada Conference and Exhibition Centre, Granada, Spain, July 17-22, 2004.

As in the previous Symposia of this series, we have tried to develop an exciting scientific programme. Thus, a number of scientists of international reputation will give lectures covering a wide range of highly relevant, timely and cutting edge photochemical topics. In addition to the plenary lectures, there will be invited lectures, oral communications and posters, organized within special workshops devoted to all major areas of photochemistry.

Special effort has been devoted to keep registration fees and other costs reasonably priced. You will see that they represent excellent value for money. Participation of young researchers (PhD students and post-docs) will be encouraged and facilitated. Ample opportunities will be offered for both organized and spontaneous interaction between experienced and young photochemists.

In addition to the attractive scientific programme, the local Organising Committee has put together a social and cultural programme for delegates and their accompanying guests. Granada and the Andalucia region offer many cultural attractions, excellent restaurants, shopping and sightseeing possibilities. Granada itself is a historic city with a marked Moorish flavour. It is well known for its architecture (including the world-famous Alhambra), culture and gastronomy. Cities such as Cordoba and Sevilla , as well as the Sierra Nevada and the Costa del Sol, are within easy reach. So be sure to mark the dates of July 17-22, 2004 on your calendar and join us in Granada!.

Finally, we would like to thank our sponsors in advance. Full recognition of their contribution will be made at the meeting and in the Congress Programme booklet.

We look forward to welcoming you in Granada in July 2004.

Miguel A. Miranda (Chairman of the International Scientific Committee) and Bartolome Quintero (Chairman of the Local Organising Committee)
