I received my M.Sc. in Telecommunications Engineering (2008 - Extraordinary Degree Award), my M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering (2009) and my M.Sc. in Computer and Network Engineering (2010) from the University of Granada (UGR). I obtained my Ph.D. on Information and Communication Technologies in February, 2014 (Summa Cum Laude) also from the University of Granada.
Currently, I am Associate Professor with the University of Granada, Spain. My current research interests include the study of different optical sensors for environmental and biological measurements, the development of paper-based microfluidic platforms, and the design of portable electronic instrumentation and smartphone applications associated with them in order to obtain in-situ and real time information.
I have collaborated with several departments in my research:
I am member of the ECsens group, constituted by members of the Department of Electronic and Computer Technology, Department of Analytical Chemistry and Department of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence from the UGR. The aim of the group is the design, development and fabrication of sensors and portable instrumentation for environmental, health, food and toxicological analysis and monitoring.
