Nieves Rosendo has a Masters degree in Theatrical and Literary Studies by the University of Granada and her final work "Towards a new narratology of the new media: transmedial narratives" was awarded the highest mark. She Also has a Masters degree by the University of Barcelona in Electronic Literature, and a Degree in Spanish philology by the University of Malaga. She obtained two fellowships as a visiting researcher at the Department of Games Studies in the ITU of Copenhagen and in the Department of Culturele Studies of the KU of Leuven, and has take part in international conferences with works about digital literature, narrative TV series and videogames. She has been the coordinator of the first and second Seminars of the Project Nar_Trans, and hold the Secretary of the 1st International Conference Narrativas Transmediales (2016).


She also coordinated the inter-faculty workshop "Are you still watching series one? Critical analysis of the phenomena of TV series" which was held at the Faculty of Philosophy and Literature of the University of Granada with the cooperation of the Faculty of Communication and Documentation (2014-2015). Guest speakers: Rafael Chirbes (writer); Alberto N. García Moreno (Universidad de Navarra); Asier Aranzubía (Universidad Carlos III); Enrique Bueres (Canal Plus-Yomvi); Jorge Carrión (writer, Universidad Pompeu Fabra); Concepción Cascajosa (Universidad Carlos III); Juan de Dios Salas (Cine Club UGR).

During her years of work performance in other fields, she worked in literary criticism and collaborated with some Spanish magazines. She has written the books Bestiario de Madrid (Ediciones La Libreria) and La Embajada de Rui (MacMillan Ed.). Currently, she gives a monthly lecture course at the Andalusian Centre of Literature in Malaga (Centro Andaluz de las Letras) focused on cyber literature, distopia and science-fiction. She is also working on her PhD dissertation on transmediality and narrative in digital media "Narrativas transmediales: las posibilidades de una narrativa ampliada en los medios digitales".

 

 

She is an active member of the I+D Project Nar_Trans Narrativas transmediales: nuevos modos de ficción audiovisual, comunicación informativa y performance en la era digital CSO2013-47288, Universidad de Granada.
