Field-trip to Cabo de Gata-Níjar Geopark

by Alberto Gil Toja, Pablo Rivas Palomo
Geoparque del Cabo de Gata-Níjar, Junta de Andalucía

Departure from Caravaca at 8:30h, on September 18th. Pabellón Multiservicios.

Within Cabo de Gata-Níjar Geopark there are two different geologic landscapes that fit in with its main geographical units: the Cabo de Gata's volcanic range and the Almeria's Bay.
This landscape will tell us a history about volcanoes, climate change and mining heritage in one of Spain's Natural Parks where geology is more evident. The Andalusia's Environmental Ministry, in its way to develop and enhance Andalusia's geological heritage, joined the Geopark program in 2006.
