Call for proposals

The Organizing Committee is pleased to announce the 16th Symposium of the International Dostoevsky Society to be held at the University of Granada, June 7-10, 2016. The Symposium will commemorate the 150 years since the publication of “Crime and Punishment”.


The Symposium’s main goals are to promote multidisciplinary research on this essential novel and to bring together Dostoevsky researchers interested in the Conference topics:  
1. “Crime and Punishment”: 150 years since its publication.
2. New contributions to the study of Dostoevsky’s life and work.
3. Dostoevsky in the world of Sciences and Arts.
4. Dostoevsky’s contributions to understanding the literary process, fiction, and literary communication.
5. “Crime and Punishment” in Spain: its reception and translation into Spanish.

Abstract submission

Submission form (click here) must be submitted via Easy Abstracts http://linguistlist.org/easyabs/ids2016 by July 14, 2015.
Submission form includes author name(s), affiliation, email address, academic position, institutional affiliation, abstract (up to 500 words), title and language of the presentation, and a brief CV (up to one page) that includes a list of publications about Dostoevsky.

The Program Committee will review the submissions and decisions will be announced on the IDS website by October 1, 2015.

Conference dates: June 7-10, 2016.

Types of participation

Symposium participants will be limited to about 160 speakers. Membership in IDS is required before registration. Further information about membership can be found here: http://www.dostoevsky.org.

Conference fee: €65 without closing dinner; €100 with closing dinner; guests: €30 without closing dinner and €65 with closing dinner.  

Participation fee includes: abstract publication, paper publication, coffee breaks, and cultural program.

Cultural program: night visit to Alhambra, flamenco performance, and closing dinner (optional).
