Granada has good road connections with the main Spanish cities and is easily accessible by train from other provincial and international capital cities.

From Málaga to Granada
Malaga is 150 kilometres from Granada (approximately an hour and a half by road). It has an international airport with daily flights to all European destinations and flights to some American cities. The easiest way to get to Granada is by bus.
These are the steps (a-b) you have to follow to catch the bus from Malaga to Granada:

a. Get to Malaga Bus Station

By bus
Take bus number 19 from the airport to Malaga Bus Station. The bus stop is
located just outside the main arrivals hall. You can take this bus from 7am to midnight, and it runs every 30 minutes. You can pay on the bus (the fare is 1€). The journey time is 20 minutes.

By train
Take the train from the airport (the train station is outside the international terminal). Take the lift in the arrivals hall up to the departures hall. Walk outside onto the upper level parking area, and turn right. Follow the signs to the train station. The first train leaves at 07.15; then at 45 and 15 minutes past each hour. The last train is at 23.45. Journey time 10-15 minutes. This is much cheaper than taking a taxi from the airport.

It costs approximately 10€.

b. From Malaga Bus Station to Granada Bus Station
Take the bus from Malaga to Granada (Alsina Graells ticket office. The telephone number for this company in Malaga is 952 34 17 38 and the station is located at Paseo de los Tilos s/n).

This bus runs every hour from 7am to 9pm (except 8pm). The journey time is about 1 hour and 40
minutes and the price is about 9€.

3. FROM MADRID TO GRANADA

Madrid is 450 kilometres north of Granada and the quickest way to get here is by plane. There are four flights a day from Madrid to Granada operated by Iberia.

By Train
The national train company is called RENFE and their web page is www.renfe.es
You can telephone 902 240202 for information and reservations or 902 243402 for international information.
There are two trains a day from Madrid to Granada and they depart from Chamartín train station located in C/ Agustín de Foxa, S/N (Madrid). The ticket costs 28.50 € one-way.

By Bus
Another option is the bus with the company CONTINENTAL-AUTO. There are two bus stations: If you depart from Avenida de América (Central Madrid), buses take 5 and a half hours and leave Madrid daily at: 7.00, 8.00, 10.00, 11.00, 13.00, 13.30, 14.00, 15.00, 16.00, 17.00, 18.00, 19.00, 21.00, 23.00 and 1.00 a.m.
If you depart from Méndez Álvaro, buses take 5 hours and depart half an hour later than the previously mentioned timetables. Buses cost appproximately 15 € (one-way), although there is a luxury service at 17.00 (departing from Avenida de America only) that costs 26 €. For more details see http://www.continental-auto.es/

By Plane

4. GETTING TO YOUR HOTEL

a. From Granada Airport
Granada Airport is located 17 kilometres to the west of the city (Chauchina). It is reached by motorway A-92. The car park has 450 spaces, 12 of which are reserved for the handicapped. Its opening/closing hours are 7.00 to 21.30 h. The cost is first half hour: free of charge; first hour or part of an hour: 0.86 €, extra hour or part of an hour: 0.67 €. 24 hour rate: 8.12 €.

By Car
The airport directly accesses the motorway A-92.

By Bus
A bus route links the airport with the city:
Airport - La Caleta - Avda. de la Constitución - Gran Vía - Palacio de Congresos
- Airport stop: In the arrivals area.
- Timetable: Granada-airport, Monday to Friday at 8:00, 11:40, 12:40, 14:00, 16:20, 17:15 and 18:40. The return bus leaves the Palacio de Congresos at 9:00, 12:45, 13:45, 17:20, 18:15, 19:45 and 23:00 hours.
- Price: 3 €.

By Taxi
- Airport stop: In the arrivals area.
- Price: From the airport to Granada, 17 €; to Alhambra, 25 €; to Albaycín, 20 €; to Sierra Nevada, 63 €.

b. From Granada Bus Station

By Bus
The bus station is in the north of the city (Carretera de Jaén). The bus stop is right outside the bus station. (Fare: one-way 1 €; 10-trip travel card: 6 €)
- To the city centre: Bus Lines 3 & 17 (City centre stops: Avda. Constitución, Gran Via & Puerta Real)
- To Hotel Center, Hotel Don Juan, Hotel Reina Ana María: Bus Line 10 (stop at Plaza Einstein and from there, only a few minutes walk)
- To Hotel Gran Via, Macia Plaza, Monasterio de los Basilios: Bus Line 3 (stop at the end of Gran Via)
- To Hotel Montecarlo: Bus Line 3 (stop at Acera del Darro)
- To Hotel Niza: Bus Line 3 (stop at Plaza del Carmen, next to Ayuntamiento de Granada)
- To Hotel Vincci, Hotel Luz, Hotel Princesa Ana, Hotel Abén-Humeya, Hotel Macia Condor: Bus Line 3 (stop at Avda. Constitución)

By Taxi
The fare is not expensive as the station is in the city, although in the outskirts.

c. From Granada Railway Station
