I work as an Associate Professor at the Department of Didactics of Mathematics at the Faculty of Educational Sciences in the Campus of Granada of the University of Granada (Spain). Previously, I was working at the University of Novi Sad, the Campus of Ceuta of the University of Granada, the University of Jaén and the University of Oviedo. I have enjoyed several research stays at the Wigner Research Centre for Physics (Budapest), Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Brussels), Deutsches Elektronen Synchrotron (Hamburg) and Charles University (Prague).
My research covers different aspects of Mathematics Education, including: early algebra and algebraic thinking, prospective teachers training and performance, mathematical modelling, mathematical competence and mathematical senses, didactic resources for teaching and learning mathematics. I develop my research work in Didactics of Mathematics as a member of the research group FQM-193: Didáctica de la Matemática. Pensamiento Numérico (Didactics of Mathematics. Numerical thinking), funded by Junta de Andalucía.
