Teaching

Currently I teach the following subjects at the University of Granada:
Previously I taught the subjects Macroeconomics I, Political Economics and Macroeconomics II at the University of Granada and led seminars in Macroeconomics and Applied Economics at the University of York (England).
Studies

In 2007 I obtained my PhD in Economics at the University of York (England) with the thesis entitled "Decentralisation and its impact on health and equity in health: some theoretical considerations and applications to Canada". My thesis was supervised by Prof. Peter C. Smith (Centre for Health Economics, University of York) and approved by Prof. Nigel Rice (Centre for Health Economics, University of York) and Juan Cabasés Hita (Public University of Navarre) on the 6th of june of 2006. In my thesis I analysed, both theoretically and empirically, the consequences for population health and equity in health of devolving health policy making to local government levels.

As a pre-requisite for the PhD, I got an MSc in Public Economics in the academic year 2001/2002, specialising in Health Economics. In the same academic year I also obtained an MPhil in Economics by the University of Granada with the dissertation entitled "Risk-adjusted capitations for financing health services: an application to the primary health care districts in Andalusia", supervised by Prof. José Martín Martín (University of Granada). Before these studies, I obtained a BA in Economics by the University of Granada.
