I was born in Cordoba in 1967.
I spent my graduate and postgraduate years at the Universidad de Granada,
where I received my PhD. in Chemistry in 1994.
My doctoral dissertation entitled
"
ab initio MO calculations on -O-O- systems. Intermolecular interactions of hydrogen bonding
on H2O2···XH (X=OOH, OH, F, Cl) complexes", and it was performed under the supervision of
Prof. José Molina Molina.
During the years 1995 to 1997, I became postdoctoral fellow at
Zurich University (Prof. M. Nonella) and
Helsinki University (Prof. M.R. Sundberg).
I joined the Dpt. of Organic Chemistry staff at this University as postdoctoral research (1997-1998), "
Profesor Asociado"
(1998-2002), and "
Profesor Titular de Universidad" since 2003.
In that period I spent also several months at
McMaster University (Prof. R.F.W. Bader) and
Helsinki University (Prof. M.R. Sundberg)
The computational Chemistry is my area of research, and actually I direct the "
Grupo de Modelización y Diseño Molecular" research group
financed (FQM-174) by the "
Junta de Andalucía" Government.
