DOCUMENTATION
Students from countries outside the EU
Students from any country outside the European Union planning
to study in Granada for more than three months should apply
for a student visa at their nearest Spanish Embassy or Consulate.
Once the application form for a semester or academic year
at CLM (University of Granada) has been received, students
will be sent a Reservation or Enrolment Certificate together
with a letter of confirmation to the address given.
It is important to be aware that if you have entered Spain
with a tourist visa, it is not then possible to obtain a
student visa to prolong your stay. Even if you initially
think you will be in the country for less than three months,
it is worth applying for a student visa in your own country
which will enable you to prolong your stay in Spain if you
should so wish.
Documents required for visa renewal and student permit (once
in Spain):
a) A valid passport or identity card plus photocopy.
b) Three passport photographs.
c) Confirmation of enrolment at CLM (enrolment certificate).
d) Proof that students have sufficient financial means at
their disposal: bank certificate or credit card.
e) Proof of valid medical insurance.
f) Grade certificate of the course the visa was issued for.
The student residence permit application is processed
at the main Police Station in Plaza de los Campos (just
three minutes from CLM).
HEALTH
Students from EU countries should bring their E-111/128
form with them which allows then to use the Spanish Public
Health Service if required. This form should be requested
from the health authorities in the country of origin.
- Students from non-EU countries should take make sure
before their arrival that their social security or private
insurance covers them whilst in Spain.
- Through CLM students can take out medical
insurance if they wish.
