Pharmacy students' undertanding about tobacco addiction

Abstract

The pharmacy students' understanding about tobacco addiction in the University of Granada (Spain) through an anonymous, voluntary and selfanswer questionnaire has been evaluated.
1350 questionnaires were distributed and 480 were answered. This is the 35.5% of the sample. The 42.5% of students think the tar is the most toxic component of the smoke tobacco. The illness which they related most closely to tobacco addiction was lung cancer (97.9%). The risk increment in complications during pregnancy in the are agree in the bigest percentage (74.5%). The 15.4% related the slogan "Tobacco or health, decide" with the who. The 62.7% of students recognize the sanitary professionals have an important influence in the people addicion.
It would be neccesary to increment the students' understanding about specific areas, with so much sanitary repercussion like the tobacco addiction.
