El trabajo analiza un fenómeno indudablemente signif icativo para la historia social: el infanticidio y la exposición de los niños. A tal fenómeno se conecta inevitablemente el estudio de dos f iguras femeninas: las mujeres que rechazaron a sus hijos y las nodrizas que tuvieron la ardua tarea de cuidar, instruir y proteger a los pequeños abandonados.

The paper analyzes the social phenomena of infanticide and child abandonment focusing on the analysis of two kind of women: the mothers that abandoned or killed their children and the wetnurses that had to take care of, instruct and protect the waifs.
