Animation. There is also a link to a "flip chart animation". This is a series of reconstructions that can be moved through to show the net plate motions. The series is plotted in the mantle reference frame, so the Americas move west to achieve Caribbean-American relative motion, while the Caribbean moves very little, especially in the Tertiary. This model is essentially the culmination of refinements Jim has continued to make to my Pacific origin model since 1984.
