Undergraduate Degree in Pre-school Education

Through our Degree in Pre-School Education, the University of Granada seeks to answer the public demand for professionals that know how to adequately teach children from birth until they are six years old, the moment when they start primary-level education. These professionals are able to help the children with their physical, affective, social and intellectual development and help them learn the basic knowledge needed for their development in early life.

The Education Sciences Faculty is located in the Cartuja Campus, one of the largest campuses in Granada. The range of resources available for the students is immense, and our teaching staff are highly experienced in teaching students all the necessary skills to become competent and motivated teachers.

This four-year Degree has four learning stages: basic subjects, core subjects, a compulsory 24-credit internship programme and elective subjects. The internship programme is completed in the third and fourth years of the degree, in pre-schools located in the city. Subjects on this degree include contents in areas like sociology, English and language teaching, education psychology, education theories, music, mathematics, literature, education strategies and diversity.

Many of our graduates go on to become teachers of young children in Spain (either for children between ages 0-3 or ages 3-6). However, this is not the only possible career path for our graduates. For example, they can work in public child welfare projects and programmes, as event and activity coordinators, or in different workshops (theatre, sports, games, dance…).

Education is a vital part of any society, and the sooner it starts, the better. However, teaching young children is no easy task, and that is why our degree equips you with the know-how to promote positive personal development among young children, allowing them to thrive in life.
