PORTA LINGUARUM is an international interuniversity journal specialised in foreign language didactics. It aims to publish empirical studies, critical revisions, and theoretical models related to the factors that influence the teaching and learning processes:

The social and school context : the family's social and cultural influence as well as the student's mother language and its influence on the L2 learning process, etc.
The students : personal characteristics (age, gender, personality traits, etc.) as well as their attitudes, motivation, cognitive styles, etc.
The FL teacher : the teacher's mental representations, attitudes, motivation, individual characteristics, initial and continuous education, teaching methods, professional development, etc.
Learning conditions and the learning process : the educational/curricular treatment, the teaching methods and learning strategies used, influence of learning contexts in the students' achievement, the didactic procedures, materials, competences developed by the students in relation to the language programs applied in class, attention given to the different communicative skills, input analysis, classroom language used for interaction, effects of teaching resources and materials used in class, etc.
Learning outcomes: evaluation procedures, evaluation of the students' communicative competence at different academic levels, European portfolio, etc.

PORTA LINGUARUM es una revista interuniversitaria e internacional especializada en didáctica de las lenguas extranjeras. Se propone difundir estudios empíricos, revisiones críticas, modelos teóricos y propuestas didácticas que estén relacionadas con los procesos de enseñanza y aprendizaje de las lenguas:

Contexto social: clase social del alumnado, ambiente familiar, contexto escolar, contexto de aula, etc.
Alumnado: factores relacionados con la edad de iniciación a la LE, el efecto de las estancias en países donde se habla la LE, actitudes y motivación, estilos cognitivos, etc.
Profesorado de LE: efectos de la edad, género, formación inicial y continua, actuación docente, personalidad, ambiente que se genera en clase, desarrollo profesional, etc.
Tratamiento y enfoque curricular: estudio y efecto de las estrategias didácticas empleadas; métodos de enseñanza y su evolución histórica, influencia de los contextos de aprendizaje en los niveles de LE; estrategias de aprendizaje, procesos de adquisición de la LE en relación con las estrategias didácticas empleadas; tipos de competencias desarrolladas por el alumnado en relación con la metodología de clase; atención dedicada a las destrezas; análisis del "input" que se ofrece en clase y sus efectos en el aprendizaje; interacción entre profesor y alumnos; efecto de determinados recursos y materiales didácticos; etc.
Resultados del aprendizaje : evaluación de las competencias cognitivas, procedimentales y actitudinales que desarrolla el alumnado, resultados del portfolio etc.
